As Managing Partner with U.S. Hotel Appraisals, Russ Rivard oversees the strategic direction and management of the firm. Mr. Rivard’s history with hotels traces back to the six years he spent working at a Ramada hotel in Evansville, Indiana. Starting in high school and proceeding through his college years, Russ went from a position in facility maintenance to busboy and then waiter at the hotel’s restaurant. He later became a bellman, a front desk clerk, and finally Assistant Manager of the hotel’s rooms division. From this hardworking, loyal advance through the ranks of hotel operations, Russ’s career has coursed through hotel markets across the country and the world. Russ has overseen or conducted appraisals for more than 4,000 hotels, with the majority focused on limited-and select-service hotels and motels. Russ’s clients include regional banks, hotel developers, and hotel owners and operators throughout the nation. Russ is a Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) and has logged hundreds of hours of coursework, taking annual USPAP courses to stay current with developments in property appraisal theory and practice. Russ earned a BA from Purdue University and an MS in Operational Management from the University of Arkansas.

David Bone, Director of Business Development for U.S. Hotel Appraisals, grew up on his family’s small Texas farm, forging a discipline he carries through to his career as a hotel consultant and appraiser. David has conducted hundreds of consulting and appraisal assignments for limited-, select-, and full-service hotels in markets across Texas and the western U.S. David formerly worked in the rooms division and engaged in all aspects of operations at the Omni Parkwest Hotel in Dallas.
